Feb 14, 2010, Multiply, non-art sunday

Feb 14, '10 9:05 PM
for everyone
Today I've been doing an 'Art Sunday' all of my own, which is why I didn't have the time to post my usual 'Art Sunday' here.
My granddaughter and I spend the day creating our own modest works of art on the kitchen table.
She did a colourful abstract and I attempted a seascape inspired by one of my own photographs taken last year.
Its just a sketch at the moment but I think I may develop it over the next week or so. If I do decide to work on this little sketch I'll be sure to share the progress.
But, if you want to see what a Scottish Seascape should look like, just check out this Art Sunday that I posted back in Aug 08.

I would like a better view of your granddaughter's painting but what I can see I like very much.
Thank you Narice, I've just added a picture of her finished painting at the bottom of the blog. These two very small canvases were bought at the local supermarket, they were really inexpensive and had an outline of a painting already drawn on it. Erin started out by saying she just wanted to colour it in but after a while she became bored and started adding bits of her own and changing all the colours. This was the result. she's away home now with her painting but i did managed to get this picture of it before she left.

Great! Your work looks very good and it is a wonderful thing to help someone express their creativity.

And if your sketch is any indicator your painting should be magnificent.

A true Art Sunday spent making art with your lovely granddaughter. Time well spent. Thanks for sharing your day with us.

That's pretty good for 'just a sketch'. I wish I had the slightest bit of artistic ability. I've never been able to draw or paint worth a damn.
